In Car DVD Players

There are a great selection of DVD players currently on the market that have been designed specifically with In-Car use in mind. These models have been created in every way to provide the ideal viewing experience for passengers and to minimise or eliminate any negative impact on the driver of the car. Choosing a DVD player for your car is something that you should of course do with your car’s interior and model in mind, as well as the viewing requirements that you may have for the player itself.

Screens
You can purchase In-Car DVD players with one or more screens, in which case the same player sends audio and video signals to more than one screen. This of course allows multiple passengers to enjoy watching the DVD at the same time, and is typically fitted as two screens on the rear of the car’s front two seats, so that passengers in the back seats, typically children, can watch the DVDs on a car journey.

Audio
In most cases an In-Car DVD player will have one or more headphone sockets fitted for each screen. This has a double advantage. It maximises the sound quality for people watching the DVD, minimising the impact of road and exterior noise. It also prevents the DVD playback from distracting the driver, or indeed any other passenger who does not wish to watch the DVD.

Power
You are likely to face a choice when it comes to how your In-Car DVD player receives the power it requires in order to function. Many such portable devices are battery powered, and will therefore only function for as long a period as the battery can allow, although this can be substantial in many cases. Some In-Car DVD players can also be AC powered, typically by being plugged into your car’s cigarette lighter as with many car-based electrical appliances.

Mounting
In-Car DVD players can be attached to the car seats and other parts in various ways. In some, the players are designed to be portable, and to be fitted and then removed from the car for use elsewhere regularly. In such cases the attachment of the player tends to involve some relatively lightweight measure such as a system of velcro straps which can easily be done and undone.

In some cases, the mounting of an In-Car DVD player will be more permanent, and indeed in some cars these players are factory fitted. These types tend to use more robust attachments such as brackets to secure them to the interior of the car.

Mechanisms
Today’s In-Car DVD players are often impressively designed to enhance their functionality. Many of these models are fitted with the ability to cope with bumps in the road and the general movements of the car, ensuring smooth playback regardless of the terrain.

Viewing
If your In-Car DVD player is going to be mounted on the back of a seat, you may also want to check out the screen technology that has been employed, as the screens have often been created to provide as a wide as possible a quality viewing angle.
